Sharon Crosby
Painter (watercolour)
Artist Statement
I am fascinated by the way watercolour lends itself to the beauty of our Canadian landscapes and the magnificent ever-changing atmosphere of the skies. Nature inspires me, and if I can convey that through my art that makes me happy. My favorite technique is to put down colour and see what comes of it. The satisfaction that comes from this is that someone else will find joy in what I have created. A piece of my heart goes into every painting.
Artist Bio
Born in Toronto, Sharon moved to Milton in 1981. As a young girl, art was always a part of her life. She began painting in watercolour at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Hamilton, Ontario and studied under the late F. Eleanor Johnson, a highly-regarded member of the Canadian Watercolour Society. She reminds herself that “imagination is more important than knowledge” (Einstein).
